With a new year approaching, it’s good to stop and look back at what Awingu has achieved in 2018. Allow us to recap the past 12 months with a few highlights, ranging from exciting new partnerships to new and improved versions of Awingu.
AWINGU ENTERS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP WITH BLACKBERRY
Only last month, we announced that we entered into a global ISV (Independent Software Vendor) partnership with BlackBerry that includes joint go-to-market initiatives and streamlined customer support. “Ultra-secure solutions like this joint offering from BlackBerry and Awingu enable businesses to deploy BYOD devices without increased risk of data loss,” said Mark Wilson (CMO, BlackBerry). “The partnership between BlackBerry and Awingu means our shared customers can enjoy highly secure and audited access to company resources, including existing infrastructure and legacy applications, on any device.”
AWINGU 4.0 AND 4.1
Awingu 4.0, released in May of this year, was the first major version of our software in over two years. Not only did this release come with many new features and enhancements, but the revamped UI also made working in our unified workspace more intuitive than ever. It confirmed a focus on an easy-to-use, secure and browser-based workspace solution. At the same time, the update picked up on Awingu’s roots as a workspace aggregator, increasing the number of sources that can be aggregated – truly the next generation of end-user computing.
In October, we launched Awingu 4.1, which featured a multitude of enhancements in end-user UX, an extension of aggregation and IDP capabilities, enhancements in the field of security and improvements to our platform foundations.
DRIVING VALUE CREATION IN LATIN AMERICA WITH CLM
In January of this year, we announced a distribution agreement with CLM Brazil, the value-added distributor with headquarters in Sao Paulo. They have a strong presence in security, cloud and infrastructure solutions. CLM is present in multiple Latin American countries such as Brazil, Colombia and Peru. “Awingu is a great addition to CLM’s portfolio. It builds nicely into our existing vendors such as Nutanix and Barracuda and enables CLM and its network of resellers to create a highly competitive and differentiated offering,” says Sergio Fabossi (Director of Innovation Products, CLM).
FORMER CITRIX EMEA VP LUCA MARINELLI JOINS AWINGU’S ADVISORY BOARD
In 2018, we welcomed many new colleagues in virtually all our departments. Aside from that, we also had a major addition to our advisory board: mr. Luca Marinelli. Luca is a well-known veteran in the IT scene with leadership roles at Citrix, Microsoft, and Cisco. ‘With Luca, we add somebody with market insight, knowledge and experience. He will help us refine our competitive positioning in the “Unified Workspace” market and its go-to-market model,’ said Walter Van Uytven (CEO, Awingu).
COPACO EXPANDS 2tCLOUD PORTFOLIO WITH AWINGU-AS-A-SERVICE
In October, Copaco was the first distributor to add Awingu-as-a-Service to its 2tCloud portfolio. Awingu-as-a-Service is a ready-to-use, secure, complete online workplace that offers users everything they need to be able to work wherever and whenever they have access to the internet. “The addition of Awingu is an extension of our Workspace-as-a-Service offering, which provides solutions for different types of users and environments,” says Harold Bax (Director Business Development, Copaco). “With Awingu-as-a-Service, our partners can provide a secure, affordable online workplace for a fixed monthly fee. Because the as-a-service is provided, it is quickly deployable and especially affordable for small and medium-sized businesses.”
Furthermore, we welcomed a lot of new customers and partners in 2018. We hosted dozens of technical training sessions, attended a wide variety of events and kept on listening to our users.
The entire Awingu team wishes you a happy holiday season and is looking forward to seeing you in 2019!
