Jan De Schepper is a member of the Awingu advisory board. As an entrepreneur and ‘strategic thinker’, he supports Awingu to grow successfully. In the past, he was a top manager at Telindus and Belgacom (now Proximus), and youth coach at soccer club KV Mechelen. Jas Cartwright is the Head of Digital Innovation Strategy and Head of ICT at a 6500-employee UK NHS Trust. The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is a publicly funded healthcare institution consisting of three hospitals, spread across the Worcestershire county. Running such an organization comes with many challenges, such as budgetary constraints, providing a way to let its clinical staff work from home and keeping their patients’ data secure.
When COVID-19 struck in March of 2020, Jas lead the operation to equip their workforce with remote working tools by providing them with devices, giving them access to the already in-place Awingu workspace and enabling virtual consultations where possible.
In our first episode, Awingu’s chief marketing officer Arnaud Marliere talks to author and cyber security expert Dr. Chase Cunningham. Chase has over two decades of experience in the cyber security landscape, and has worked for over 13 years as an expert at the US National Security Agency or NSA. In his latest book called “Cyber Warfare – Truth, Tactics, and Strategies”, he explores “strategic concepts and truths to help you and your organization survive on the battleground of cyber warfare”.
Dr. Cunningham is also known as ‘Dr. Zero Trust’, as one of the current thought leaders of this deperemiterized security concept – an idea that we, at Awingu, pay close attention to, as we believe that it is the necessary future of cyber security. In the next 30 minutes, we’ll explore that Zero Trust idea, we’ll talk about Chase’s book, cyber warfare and discuss where the world of IT security is evolving for businesses – and how you should adapt.
