Das hat mich zum Nachdenken gebracht: Einige Male im Jahr steht man ohne seinen beruflichen Laptop da. Sie werden entweder gestohlen, gehen kaputt, werden vergessen, und so weiter. Kensington liefert uns einige Statistiken zu diesem Phänomen:
- 1 von 10 Laptops wird im Laufe seines Lebens gestohlen oder geht verloren
- Alle 53 Sekunden wird ein Laptop gestohlen
- 52% der Laptops werden gestohlen... im Büro
Ich habe keine Zahlen über Leute gefunden, die ihren Laptop zu Hause vergessen haben, aber ich bin mir fast sicher, dass ich nicht der Einzige bin und dass das gelegentlich passiert. Die oben genannten Zahlen hingegen sind erschreckend. Und als Unternehmen sind Sie besser darauf vorbereitet, Ihren Mitarbeitern ein Arbeiten ohne Produktivitätsverlust zu ermöglichen und die gestohlenen oder verlorenen Geräte zu schützen.
Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass sich die Kosten für ein verlorenes oder gestohlenes Gerät nicht nur auf die Kosten des Geräts beschränken. Allzu oft sind sie Auslöser für weitaus größere Datenverletzungen. Schätzungen zufolge belaufen sich die Kosten für ein gestohlenes Gerät im Durchschnitt auf über $50.000. Darüber hinaus hat BitGlass ermittelt, dass mehr als 25,3% der zwischen 2006 und 2016 aufgetretenen Datenschutzverletzungen darauf zurückzuführen sind, dass "böswillige Akteure ein mobiles Unternehmensgerät in die Hände bekommen haben".
