Corel (now Alludo) Acquires Awingu to Accelerate Its Secure Remote Workspace Offering. Read more
As in other industries, COVID-19 has significantly increased adoption of remote access in education. More and more often, institutions are looking for a solution to enable remote access for students and staff in a secure, simple and cost-efficient way. Awingu helps educational institutions with this shift and brings benefits for all staff and students.
Thanks to Awingu students are able to take over desktops in PC class rooms while being at home themselves. They can easily and securely access the desktop – and the software running on it – via the browser of their own preferred device.
Administrative staff and teachers can work remotely from anywhere when using Awingu. They can access desktops, applications and files on any device with an HTML5 browser. Of course, all of that happens in a secure and easy way.

Many universities have large PC rooms, sometimes they consist of thousands of computers, that are running very specific software. With the purpose of remote teaching, students need to use this specific software from anywhere outside of school. But how can this be done?
With Awingu it’s possible to enable a very easy yet highly secure remote access to desktops in these PC rooms. You can let students take over the desktops on their own device. The solution acts as an HTML5 gateway and translates the desktop into HTML5. This way they can access it in the outside world on their own laptop or tablet in the most secure way.
UDLAP (The University of the Americas Puebla) was looking for a simple, cost-effective and highly secure solution to give their students and academic staff access to remote desktops in their computer rooms. With over 1000 Windows and Mac devices in various general computer rooms as well as in small class-specific rooms with specific software, they wanted the solution to be easy to use and manage.
They found out about Awingu and in only a fraction of the time it would cost to set up a competing solution – a crucial element in the rapid switch towards homeworking – the platform was implemented. The roll out to users also went smoothly as they were all very relieved because of the simplicity of the solution. “In fact, I cannot imagine a simpler way to tackle this issue, both for us as admins and for the users.”, Raúl concludes.
"We consider VPN as a secure tunnel to a potentially insecure computer – it is a potential tunnel for malware and other threats. The IT staff very strongly argued against VPN and looked for a secure and user-friendly alternative - and found Awingu."

NACE GROUP is an educational group with various private international schools located in Spain. Together with their IT partner Prosol the academic institution found Awingu and after an implementation of only a few days they were up-and-running. “This tool has the agility, simplicity and accessibility that we were looking for,” says Adelardo Camacho Quiles, Head of Organisation and Systems.
CFA Blagnac (France) is an institution that gives quality training to students who wish to work in the commercial, service, hotel and restaurant, kitchen or florist industries. They were looking for a secure way to let their three user groups (graduates, partner companies & administrative staff) access their applications, desktops and files. Partner Attitude SI proposed Awingu to enable secure teleworking and telelearning. CFA Blagnac has nothing but praise for the solidity, agility and respect for privacy provided by Awingu.
