Cela m'a fait réfléchir : les gens se retrouvent sans leur ordinateur portable professionnel plusieurs fois par an. Ils sont volés, tombent en panne, sont oubliés, etc. Kensington nous fournit quelques statistiques sur ce phénomène :
- 1 ordinateur portable sur 10 sera volé ou perdu au cours de sa vie.
- Toutes les 53 secondes, un ordinateur portable est volé
- 52% des ordinateurs portables sont volés... au bureau
Je n'ai pas trouvé de chiffres sur les personnes qui ont oublié leur ordinateur portable à la maison, mais je suis presque sûr que je ne suis pas le seul et que cela arrive occasionnellement. Les chiffres ci-dessus, en revanche, sont effrayants. Et en tant qu'entreprise, vous êtes mieux préparé pour permettre aux employés de travailler sans perte de productivité et pour protéger les appareils qui sont volés ou perdus.
Pour aggraver les choses, le coût d'un appareil perdu ou volé ne se limite pas au coût de la machine. Trop souvent, il déclenche des violations de données bien plus importantes. On estime qu'en moyenne le coût d'un appareil volé dépasse $50.000. En outre, BitGlass a identifié que plus de 25,3% des violations de données qui ont eu lieu entre 2006 et 2016 étaient dues à des "acteurs malveillants qui ont mis la main sur un appareil mobile d'entreprise".
