Corel Acquires Awingu to Accelerate Its Secure Remote Workspace Offering. Read more
Where Awingu as a default runs in the browser ‘on any device’, it is hard to restrict access to specific end-points or the context of this end-point. This is where partner solutions such as OPSWAT MetaAccess come into play.
Businesses can leverage the MetaAccess solution on top of Awingu to guarantee compliance of their end-points.
MetaAccess is both a central admin platform (on-prem or cloud) and a local agent that can be installed on your end-point (such as Windows PC or an Apple Macbook).
Businesses can choose their desired minimum level of security on the end-point, and this could differ for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) user-groups compared to users with company owned and managed devices.
When configured with Awingu, MetaAccess will act as a security context for Awingu. More specifically, when users attempt a login via the browser, Awingu will await feedback from the OPSWAT MetaAccess service. Only when MetaAccess provides a positive assessment will the user be enabled to access Awingu via the browser. This also implies that users in this setup will not be able to access Awingu from end-points that are not enabled with MetaAccess.
HTML5-based ‘Unified workspace’ with access to legacy apps, Saas and files - all you need is a browser.
Get up and running in a couple of hours. Install the Awingu virtual appliance your cloud of choice and plug in your existing infrastructural components - and you're good to go.
No local data, context-awareness fully audited, granular usage controls, built-in MFA and SSL offloading, out-of-the-box OPSWAT MetaAccess integration, and more!
MetaAccess guarantees that the end-user device adheres to a variety of checks you have put in place to ensure a minimum level of security.
Compliance of the posture of the device can be defined by the admin on a wide variety of parameters, such as (but not limited to) the OS version, anti-malware solutions (on and up to date), et cetera.
The device security posture becomes part of the Zero Trust context. This adds to Awingu's exclusive built-in context-awareness capabilities.
“OPSWAT is pleased to expand our solution offerings with this new partnership with Awingu, bringing new ways for businesses to secure browser-based workspace access. Awingu has unique technology in the marketplace for remote workers, and OPSWAT applies a diverse set of security functionality. Combining these functions enables businesses both the access and security required to safely operate in today’s environment.”
