With Awingu, you can reduce your end-user computing costs by 45% without compromising your IT security.
A study performed by Awingu shows that combining Awingu and a sensible BYOD policy can save you up to 45% in end-user computing costs.
Even if BYOD is not your default policy for all employees, it’s worth investigating what user-groups can be equipped productively.
Awingu makes all software – incl. legacy – and files available in a browser. As such it runs on any device with a browser. And that covers a lot of form factors!
Log in via any browser. There is no need to install any agents or plugins, nor to maintain and manage these locally installed “agents” and “plugins”.
Awingu runs inside the browser. As such, there is no local data on the device (if you don’t want to). This is obviously a big benefit from a security and compliance point of view.
Awingu’s workspace optimizes access rights based on the user’s context (e.g. blocking access to critical apps or files in defined foreign countries).
There is no good reason to use simple passwords. Awingu comes with built-in Multi-Factor Authentication capabilities.
Finally, a solution that retains existing infrastructure and runs legacy applications in a browser. It increases security, mobility and the ability for Mac OS/iOS users to run distributed applications without the complexity.

Already today, businesses have started to adopt different form factors such as tablets, laptops and thin clients. The range of options is almost endless and will only grow further.
Many businesses have started to adopt C/BYOD. This trend will only grow towards the future. Often this involves ’managing’ the setup of an MDM solution. But these solutions require management and are de-facto not truly agnostic.
Contractors need access to applications and data. They don’t require you to provide and manage a device, while this is typically the case. Costs are enormous yet the value is small.
Operating system upgrades – such as Windows 10 – are painful for many organizations due to legacy IT platforms and security. In a platform agnostic implementation, the best practice would still be to upgrade operating systems to their last version. Yet it should not be impacted by the IT platforms in the back-end.
Imelda is a mid-sized regional hospital in Bonheiden, near Antwerp (Belgium). They employ about 1900 employees – a mix of Medical Doctors, Nurses, administrative staff and management. Awingu facilitates remote working and introduces Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), while significantly reducing IT support efforts.
The police zone of Nivelles uses Awingu to enter their two separate and secured police environments – one local and one hosted federally – via a single device with one login. After comparing many different solutions, they found Awingu to be especially interesting because of its security aspects and its cost-efficiency.

BYOD or ‘bring your own device’ is a trend that has been on the rise for the past decade. Many companies have either fully deployed their BYOD strategy or are investigating how to loosen their policies to enable their workforce to work from anywhere, on any device – even if it’s not one that is managed by the company.
